Trout Lake Fishing

The trout lake is 2.5 acres of clear water and has a maximum depth of 18 feet. The lake is well stocked with rainbows and browns. The average stock size of rainbow trout is 2lb or over, with a lake record at 11lb 2oz. The lake record for brown trout is currently 7lb 8oz.
The trout lake may be fished between 8am to dusk and we are open all year round (excluding Christmas Day and Boxing Day). This is a catch and kill water. Catch and release is not permitted. The trout lake is for fly fishing only, the use of live bait is not permitted. Fly fishing tackle may be hired from the lodge.
Please report to the lodge upon arrival where tickets may be purchased prior to fishing. To help us keep a strict stocking policy, please ensure your catch is recorded in the book in the lodge, including nil returns. We do not allow wading, boats or gaffs.
Anglers Tip: Wet flies continue to prove the most popular although all fly types are used.
